The Real Club Growth Story

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

It is the “little guys” who have grown regularly in the last one-plus years, despite a recession and debt challenges. A two-club group may have added two clubs; a three-club group may have become a five-club chain. Generally, the expansion was local, and was just as likely to be an acquisition as a new build. With all These Aids, it was Sort of Surprising

“CLAY WINS the mildly feminine sunshine-looking IMMUNITY necklace!”

The Great Mystery – Who Should Go?
Back from the challenge, Ted points out that since Ken was in the final, he’s clearly a threat and “so our strategy now is to go ahead and eliminate the strength or the potential strength of Sook Jai.” (more…)

Building Self Esteem

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

We used to give our kids lots of praise when they were little, but as they grew into preteens and teens, we got into the habit of praising them less. I know self-esteem in teens is very important, so should we praise them even though they don’t appear to need it? What else can we do to strengthen their self-esteem? (more…)

Low Minimum Investment Funds

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

I’m on a very strict budget, but I’d like to start saving some money. Are there any growth funds in which I can invest for just $25 a month?

Cash Flo has a feeling that you’re going to manage your financial life just fine. Congrats for being on a budget and, at the same time, squeezing out an extra $25 per month for savings.

Office 97 and Office 2000

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

So, what exactly did Microsoft do to improve on Office 97? Is Office 2000 very different from Office 97? Is it worth it for you to upgrade to Office 2000? These are just some of the questions I have been answering since the release of Office 2000. Microsoft made some great improvements with Office 2000, added some neat features, and made the software extremely customizable for the user. The nice thing is that if you’re familiar with Office 97, you should have no problem making the transition to Office 2000. The screens and commands all have basically retained the same look and feel, with some minor changes in appearance.

Present Tense

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

My boyfriend of almost a year is graduating from college this semester and I have no idea what to get him. What do guys like?

Giving a present is no easy task. Proffering the wrong item can be awkward, disappointing, and, worst of all, may result in your receiving a cruddy, sale rack, insta-return item when your birthday rolls around. No one wants that.

Means of Support

True-confession time: I was a lingerie deadbeat.

If a marketing guru working for Playtex had stumbled across my underwear collection, the resulting stock slump in the ladies’ foundation-garment industry would have lopped 5% off the Dow. I just wasn’t buying. My entire collection of underwear consisted of several dozen pairs of old-lady panties — you know, the kind you buy at Costco, six for $10 — and a shabby assortment of bras. The panties all had fraying elastic and had long since forgone any claim to color, so traumatized had they been by their experiences with the spin cycle; and the underwire was poking through so many of the bras that a doctor would have advised me to get a tetanus shot before I put one on.

High-Tech Tools Make Marketing Materials Shine

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Professionalism is critical to the survival of your small business, particularly when it comes to the information that you provide about you and your company. Even though we live in an era of marketing on the Internet, many business people still rely on old-fashioned paper.

Shuffling Men Like Cards

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Why do I play people like Monopoly? I lead on guys, then give them the boot. I think this is very funny. My old boyfriend was great to me, but I was a b**ch to him. So I decided to get rid of him even though he bough

Your Halloween Skate Events 2011

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Halloween may seem quite a while ago but over the past two weeks we’ve received over two hundred of your photos from all over the world. We saw photos from the usual SCREAM theme to the more appropriate Bin Laden even with Little Bo Peep and associated more friendly characters… but who cares – it’s all fun… especially on skates! Here’s the pick of the crop – thanks to all who wrote in to contribute!
